West 8, founded in 1987, is an international firm for urban design, landscape architecture and infrastructure with offices in Rotterdam, Brussels and North America. West 8 is looking for a driven and creative Business Development employee (full-time) to support us in acquiring new projects, promoting our studio and increasing brand awareness. An important part of the job is improving West 8's online presence. You will be part of our PR team, located in our head office in Rotterdam . This position requires strategic thinking and strong written communication skills based on an excellent knowledge of both Dutch and English.

Our ideal candidate will have/be:
– Oversee and manage all tender processes
– Collect and design tender documents, presentations and project database;
– Prepare a wide range of visual and written communications including portfolios, press releases and award submissions;
– Prepare content for the website and social media channels;
– Update and maintain the photo and image archive;
– Respond to incoming PR and press enquiries;
– Enhance our network of relevant media contacts;
– Plan exhibitions, presentations and lectures;

Job requirements:
– A university or HBO education in marketing, communications or journalism;
– Excellent proficiency in Adobe CS: InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator;
– Excellent oral and written communication skills in both Dutch and English;
– An eye for detail, both visually and in writing;
– Interest in and basic knowledge of archiving and documenting;
– Affinity / Interest in architecture and design and basic knowledge of the work of West 8 – but does not have to have an architectural background;
– Both discipline and time management skills as well as a flexible attitude towards deadlines;
– The confidence to work in a complex and international environment;
